Midget stands ground against a giant
an accidental encounter rests defiant
here lies the spectacle of a modern age
goals never go beyond mocked-up stage.

Come one, come all to speculated events!
Come one, come all to a spectacle of moments!

Freak shows continue for their own ends
objects are decorated through generous stipends
made in the image of spectacle production
decorative blooms spring from sponsored inductions.

Come one, come all to speculated events!
Come one, come all to tampered contents!

Woe to the freaks that wander from the show
spectacle submits man to a fortunes throw
economy develops for its own end
current shows follow dollar trends

the spectacle dominates life in social quiz
to have substitutes for what one is
the show expresses nothing real
offers the illusion of material appeal.

Come one,  come all to this star event!
Come one and all lest you repent..

You always know how to say the things others can't.

Good one Martin.

Let's toss our TVs out the window
and go the way of Thoreau. There, calendars are measured in seasons and time by rain, snow and the moon's postion. Enjoyed

Passing, Ella

thanks for reading. I think any poet CAN write on whatever topic comes to mind but topic he/she choses is question of his will.  All the topics I choose are free for everyone else, all that remains is how much commitment they want to invest to get a message out through the medium of poetry.
