Across Johnson’s field
And down the rough worn logging path
That once fed the mill up on Salt Lick Flat
The Blue dances in among huge boulders
That slipped from limestone face
Long enough ago they have worn smooth
And to the east lies a narrow valley
She once upon a time flooded
In some rage of lust that left her writhing
Full bellied against the far side of stone

Cedars grow there
Up on the sides of steep

Clinging hard to broken dreams
With gnarled fingers driven in
Between cracks and fissures others would have thought
Too small or too deep

I slept there once
To be beset with fitful dreams
That raged like heartwood bleeding sap
Sticky, slow ooze of wounds covered in trapped
Where it all became slow second ticks of stars
Shaken loose in streaks of fire to color sky black
Sometimes green
                       Others blue

Just a flash…
           Then gone
    Burned in the fall

I came to fish the edges of her currents
And remember how the warm evening of cedar
Was haunted with some impending doom
That strangled words from my throat
And tore the pen from my hand

So I made another trek
And carried lines leather bound to bury deep
Knowing the place they would lie
   Fit well the meaning inside
Where so far beneath the needles
                   I knew they could hide

There is always so much to your writings. More than the naked eye can ever discern.

That's why I love to read every word and thought that leaks from your pen and mind.

Just think...
this,
seen all around
the world...

people nodding,
knowing,
feeling...
all around

M'thinks you're onto something with these.

Well, no.
You, m'friend, are aren't so much onto something, as into something.
