May I Say...

The quiet is deafening
hearing my own breath,
feeling its warmth surrounding me
in emptiness...
and promises, semi-promises
lose their worth.

What's in a word
when falling on deaf ears,
those that may hear but
not understand.
Detailing still invisible
to eyes that fantasize
and abbreviate instead,
painting a portrait without its
element of design.

Pain beneath the surface,
voiced to no one,
masked in a softness,
a question mark in gray.
Near enough to twist,
a single strand to interlock,
a single rose of red to remind
and me with dovetailing thoughts.

You are incredible!

The quiet is deafening
hearing my own breath,
feeling its warmth surrounding me
in emptiness...
and promises, semi-promises
lose their worth.

Not the ones we make to ourselves....hugs

You are the designer...and the ultra glorious element......

Absolutely stunning rhyme...

I give you a rose for Christmas...one for health, one for sounds of joy, one for a puppy licking your face, another for a child's smile to grasp your heart, and one from me....

I felt this one with you M, and you do your craft so very well that one can't help but feel with you.  Very well done M, and holiday hugs.

Maureen,

This line: "a question mark in gray" was outstanding!! More questionable than just a mere question is a question in gray...again outstanding..

loved this!

It seems you improve your style with every turn---so smoothly done and pleasing to the eyes. Lovely!

We're all ambivalent. Yin-yang, good-bad, moods up and down. If you cut us lengthwise we don't mirror but oppose the other half. To delve into this dichotomy takes courage and is a sign of maturity that one would hope would lead to acceptance (of self). To deny the dark or insist on total light is folly. Enjoyed

very interesting Richard...I was once told
(by a doctor) that I was very lopsided especially in my face which he tried to explain was my reason for headaches...
needless to say his diagnosis gave me a migraine thinking about it.

Thank you all for your responses, some days I runaway with my thoughts....

Thank you Susan C, Sue, Lee, Donna, Atov, Kristabell, Nancy and Susan ( yes, my face he said one side was higher than the other...

oh well, I have one hip lower than another, too... I use to hem ( when wearing very short skirts ) one side more than another making it difficult to ever "handmedown" my clothing.

hmmm...memories
