Searching for a lead while I sit between rain drops

The pain starts over like a dog thinking you are trying to steal its food. It doesn't want to be touched. It does not need to be held. I turn my mind round and round like a merry go round. I try to throw a rock inside to sound for echoes. There are things in this place that need to be moved. There are spikes below me and wheelers poking out eyes. Water full of strange dyes and garbage men are cleaning up the scene. The scent is smoke.

i will be of one command.
sometimes it's the hardest thing you can do.

"Searching for a lead while I sit between rain drops"

This line said it all.
Reminds me of when I was a salesman.

Excellent.

"WATER FULL OF STRANGE DYES AND GARBAGE MEN CLEANING UP ALL AROUND ME" SOUNDS LIKE THE MORNIN AFTER ST PATTY'S DAY. OH SORRY(you might still be hung over) I'LL whisper and talk a little slower for ya then

You have done an excellent job of sharing the feeling of numb.  A shock to the soul will do such, as to completely blanket the emotions with pain. I hope these feeling ease for you, and applaud this poem for it's depth and honesty.
