Reverberations of a solo soul song,
momentary notes wavering within
the lens of a personal point of view.

I seek a centered focal point somewhere
deep within the confines of self,
where the hymn of the harmonious heart resides,
where lives the essential beat
the morning sun does greet.

I start the day in whatever way I choose to play,
notwithstanding the interplay,
adversity of the elements,
nor the ailments of body and soul that detract
from more important happenings of each day,
when the notes of life crescendo out of sync,
when the abusive cacophony of reality seems never ending.

No, my daily goal must be to free
this fragmented mind and body
of earthly wants and conflicts;
but I know how hard Hell harries,
how the one that tarries and dwells upon her own needs
while forsaking others
is doomed.

So I must be as the rock, the tree,
the everlasting sheltering branch of security,
the strong secure ladder to the top of the world
for someone who clings in fear,
to offer my hand and reaffirm a truth:
when hand and heart work together
to lift another soul up from the deep,
each one climbs up another rung.

So into this night
I cling to the reverberations of a solo soul song,
the momentary notes which waver within
the lens of a personal point of view.

May your days and nights
be peaceful and full
of the abundance of love.

You'll build quite a pyramid that way.

Yep, one at a time, stacked securely

Jesus can you take the time, to throw a drowning man a line, peace on earth...."

I have always admired your indomitable spirit Kacy, but it is your unwavering standard of self assessment that combines with that admirable spirit to give you the characteristic that most prominently comes to mind when I think of you:

integrity

Happy holidays and yes'm, blessed be.

Kacy, this is so full of wisdom. When someone
will do as you have written here, all around will be better.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Ethel

Others sing your song. A disjointed choir. You have the right idea, keeping planted on terra firma....that's the solid ground that holds us.

"cacophony"....love that word!
