Where are all the fine young ladies,
whose warm arms
I pulled from ‘round my neck
before they got up nerve to say
I should stay a little longer
to help them pass the time away?
Some gone too many decades to recall,
some dead,
some filled with hate
and loathing at the shambles
they would like to blame on me,
or some other hapless male,
as Satan’s instrument of fate.

The need is nothing,
as any social evening shows,
when compared to understanding
lust with all its pretty colors,
bending into rainbows
through the prisms
in the windows of the soul;
the quiet heart draws love
without demanding;
the challenge
for the hungry is reflecting,
there is no goal in living
that may be instilled
against the tide of human love
by any application of greed,
or force of will.

Intense - and it is true, love is quiet and undemanding - it is giving in nature -

"lust with all its pretty colors,

I have known this kind of self deceit...and you describe it well..

'the quiet heart draws love
without demanding"

I hope this is true....
