White Dove/Rebecca has been the source of inspiration and comfort to many a senior I knew, and still know at an extended care facility, called CedarLodge in Vancouver.  Her words are read daily to patients by nurses, family members, and weekly at their poetry meetings on each floor.  When I informed the head nurse of her condition, the nurses and the residents started their own prayer vigil for her, and asked I send Rebecca's family their prayers, and thanks for all her poetry.  I should like to send my prayers to her as well.

Please feel feel to add to this, or create your own prayer, poem or words for Rebecca, as she and her family need all of us right now.  She is a firm believer in the power of prayer, so let's pull together and just do it for her!

~* Prayers For White Dove *~

She flies through these halls, our angel, White Dove,
Sharing her poetry of peace, goodwill, hope, and love.
All through the Internet, so vast and so wide,
Her name is well known; she should wear it in pride.

How could this beautiful dove be chained to the ground?
We all feel her vibrancy in each word we sound?
Those passages she sets before our open eyes,
Bring relief to what were just once painful cries.

It’s madness I tell you to hear of her plight,
I pray that she's finally healed this very night.
I don’t often pray, yes I admit I did stray,
But I’ll go down on my knees for her today.

What’s that I see, smoldering smoke up in the sky,
Millions of candles lit in the question of  “why?”
Millions of prayers being said for our sweet White Dove,
Who accepts more than I do, God’s wishes above.

For White Dove I pray for renewed strength to fight,
For her spirit to soar like an eagle, strong in its flight.
I’ll pray the two become one, to sail over once more,
And grace these halls of Passion, forevermore.

White Dove, your  “Passionate friends,” near and far,
Wish to tell you in poetry just how special you are.
We send you Rebecca, our love on this trying day,
And the strength to stay with us is all that we pray.

Dearest Rebecca,

When life brings changes and heartache,
it is important to remember
that everything you've loved
will forever be a part of who you are.
Love is the light within you that can never be put out.
May it be the healing force that brings you strength and comfort.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

~With Love, Hope & Prayers, Nancy~

Sharon, this is a beautiful write, for a beautiful soul.
White Dove, may your heart and spirit soar within the bluest skies, and may you have peaceful dreams.
Namaste, offering healing mantra for you, as  the candles are lit.

Sweet Rebecca to the Lord we pray
That He will take your illness away
Lift up your heart, your spirit and mind
Leaving all your pain and troubles behind
Please know that you are missed and loved
Rebecca our dear and brave white dove

Rebecca liked this poem from a long, long time ago...so in her name, I am reposting this for her...

Call Me Back From The Pain

From where does all the sorrow draw near?
We've tried to disguise the affliction of the pain
but truth be known, we've not dealt with it
and it's waiting out there to come again.

The losses of life, whether through surprise or comprised
of complications, medical or perhaps otherwise,
they never hurt as much as we would first suspect
as it will when we have even the briefest moment to reflect.

For life calls us back too quickly to take the time we need
to give acceptance to that excruciating spell called grief,
we allow ourselves to flounder along, hiding well indeed
when t'would be best to be weeping, that is my belief.

For hidden grief can take us by circumstantial surprise,
sudden depression frowns and reddens crying eyes.
The heaviness of the heart pulls all the muscles down,
darkness of the soul suffocates as if it's become hell-bound.

When is it that we should start to fight this terrible, sinking, feeling,
when to actually give in to it would leave our senses reeling?
How are we expected to ever smile at others faces
when our arms are empty of long-lost past loves' embraces?

You've been there, along with I, and others have walked before us
that desperation of loss, leaving one's skin feeling chalk-like porous,
where we attempt to touch, but cannot feel, laugh, but not be real,
work as if there is no tomorrow, all to hide this blackened sorrow.

And even, my friend, with God's light, sometimes it doesn't shine
when that love we've lost was sister, brother, parent, or lover mine,
or small babe, grown child, a stranger we've just met;
all of the words that are said in comfort, won't ever help us forget.

So to you, my friend, whether I've known you briefly
or for all time's eternity, we'll share our feelings,
and know rapport, in life's most certain extremity,
I will be there for you, as you will be there for me,
and if I pray to find you, I hope you'll pray for me.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love's sake.

Dear Lord we ask this for Rebecca, who is in need of your healing grace.  Amen.

Sending hugs and prayers to you Becky, Marti

Rebecca flies on wings of dove
Surrounded by pure angel love
Spreading joy through poetry
Touching hearts to set them free.

Selfless in her loving ways
Worthy of all people's praise
May all her pains, and fears and woes
Be lifted by sweet scent of rose.

And so I send these fragrant flowers
To sweeten all your days and hours
Blessings sent to heal you
For all the good that you do do.

Love & Healing Light,
Linda

Having heard her soft voice, and the strength that she holds within, I pray that Becky receives that miracle and continues to improve~~ Thoughts are with you and your family.

Your lovely poems and words have been seen by Sandgrain who will be printing them off and reading them to Rebecca in the hospital.  Keep up that request for a miracle now, it seems to be working quite nicely   Thanks so much for your lovely words.

Rebecca,
The strength of the human spirit cannot be measured, however, I'm thinking yours' is off the scale. Wish I were a "Doc", but, I guess I failed " bed-side manner ". All that aside, my thoughts will be with you and your family.

God bless this soul who struggles so,
Hanging onto her faith, not letting go.
The pain she bears is far too strong,
Please pray for her, it won't last long.
Miracles are meant for those who believe,
Please pray her home for Christmas Eve.

Becka is having a hard time once more, please just keep those candles of hope and prayers coming her way.
