Beside the Twinkling Lights

It's in the smile, those words
of invitation, as I sit here
dressed in the un
feeling the power
that a press of the shoulders
and the breath of a lingering kiss
leave upon a mind
taking chances.

A manipulation of thoughts,
a slow dance sequel
flowing moments to repair the broken
and answers to questions
that chain the heart, previously lessoned.

If not today, then tomorrow...
There is always tomorrow
and the sharing of more,
contented for the moment
watching you watching me
and the shadows leaving...for now,
to a destination unknown.

M

well you sexy thang...

but there really is something romantic and lovely about tree lights.

I like to think that there is hope there, somewhere in ribbons.

and I'll bet you are a white twinkle light lady--as am I...and lotsa glass.

The holidays can be so confusing...
but so rewarding, too.
Love this write. And g'morning.

We have this thing about not getting the tree until two hours before Christmas, here. Not on purpose, of course. One year we waited so long that other people got frantic for us... and bought trees. We ended up with three! Anyway... Merry Christmas

Always, Alyssa

Alyssa, long ago I had to go artificial.
I had a cat that would use the  water tray at the base of the real tree for a litter box...that ruined it for me.

I wasn't going to put one up this year, unless I had someone who would share in the decorating. Friends do make the season "bright"

and have a  wonderful Holiday Season

ah, the lights, the season

I remember my cats too, batting at the ornaments, climbing up and knocking the tree over...once we had a kitten who made it to the top and just hung there crying out for help
