Sunbursts and wind whip my face.
I am stepping over shells and driftwood at low tide.

Searching past the rocks that sit the bay
in waiting

for what, I do not know

though these Gibralter dreamers
seem to know
I am waiting

as my bones feel the chill,
nostrils flare at the salty air
eyes gaze out beyond the breakers

as Gulliver gulls fly by
screaming at me

     move forward, move forward,
slide down the crested waves and into the warm
tread where you’ve feared to tread before

pick up the anchor,
leave your troubles behind,
capture the wind as it hits your sails,
ease the jib, and fly

as you listen to the music
of a wind song
in the sails

navigate the stars
and be free

Moon Shell

This hollow cracking under my foot
once moved along the ocean floor,
moved within itself – a snail

reflection of the sky moon,
a spiraling inward to an empty
eye.  With soft snail parts gone

moon shells gather here, washed
by waves, polished by sand –
new moons ready to tell

about the galaxies inscribed
on their faces, about being
snail, about being hollow.

Ah!, yes, wonderlust;
Cythera beckoning thee,
"step into the sea."

(She whispers)

"   move forward, move forward,
slide down the crested waves and into the warm
tread where you’ve feared to tread before"

"navigate the stars
and be free"

Excellent, inspiring, enjoyed...
