you think reality
is being happy
with no wants
and no needs
or pain,
or strife...

but in reality,
reality
is pain.

you suffer
you bleed
you work...
you fret for something
you may never see

or have
or feel.

pursuit of happiness is
pursuit of vanity.

in reality
there is only truth.
and truth hurts.

Reality can be extremely tough and painful …. and your poem shows this very powerfully. Sometimes we are in such a mood … Much depends on our attitude towards the world and people. Pursuit of happiness is our birth right, I feel, but happiness does not depend on material things where vanity is implied. It resides in the core of our heart, at peace with the world.

There are truths that hurt and there are truths that are a source of deep joy.
