Visiting Earth on a Guest Pass

Goodbye, Dutch....

Flags
   half staff and
          yearning down
as if they would join him there...

The air
    stirs, flares
          those sharp colors
like hope in the late day sun....

The world
    will go on
          and he’ll go on too;
this bare hilltop won’t hold him.

I can see
     him here, riding
          toward the sunset,
knowing it will become dawn.

“I know in my heart that man is good,
that what is right will always eventually triumph,
and there is purpose and worth to each and every life.”
Ronald Wilson Reagan

Nicely done, Ed.  He was certainly a man who showed us all what we could do with our lives.  Ken

I recently visited CA...
had hoped to get up there...
but other things were
pressing...
but it would have been nice
to say goodbye in person
just as I said hello, in person,
on the 1980 train ride through Michigan.

Well done, Sir.

What a beautiful tribute! The images your words give us have such elegance, such refinement... and a simple goodness... much like the man himself. And then the pictures enhance what was already perfection... Beautiful work! *S*
