Silent now,
little flower.
Once large to me.

You withered,
I watered,
yet you could not drink
for the twist of roots
so thick.

You have shrunk.
The trueness so small
even I was sad
at the potential wasted
in the crumpled heap
you became.

Little flower,

I toss you.
Without another thought
There are more flowers to plant
and pick
that smell much better

than the fertilizer they bury
their roots in.

withering and deflating as you watch it happen, so sad this fragile life and love
you write of with heart and soul

Thank you Donna...flowers come and go..this one just couldn't flourish with all those tangled web of roots.

and Michele... thank you, I love that you always understand.
