Conscious of Benefit Received

I walked through rooms my thoughts slumping
then must back go for the thing warm hand forgotten
a tireless trek gives this takes that
a trail of leaves from the front door
the carpets crease is my foots floor

Come see come saw the wild wind echo
out the drip down day is cold from window
and I am half unglued in needs repair
could jump on the lively pile from the hamper there

But wait    I recall the blessing of some odd flight
that called my name from sleep half through the night
and woke me to turn with fear to comfort give
to feel the breathing warm within this place I live

The light has flayed the thief that stole my sleep
with turn on of the sky now gray and filling
with a storm that’s busting to make river from steep hilling
I’m glad I have a night time friend and heater’s blast of warmth
and also that I have the care to take of someone that I love

You manage always to focus my understanding and expand my view of raw emotion.

Beautifully done!

Simply lovely, Martie.

I think a lot of us miss taking care of someone that we love in a world where people seem to like being alone and unhindered by ... emotion.

In member'd walk of your traverse
I seal the sounds of love, rehearsed,
feal'd love gone round some bend
this heart would give back all amend

comfort's fold would this my arm
shield you, and him, from all that'd harm
yet know I and you, 'tis not our fate
to weighlay that by which we're spate...

but prayer is as prayer does
prayer knows the all that was...
prayer keeps some beholden...
prayers keep all as golden...

I hang my head, for I've had yours...
I gave you mine in all, assured...
I cannot keep from what will be...
but know you have the heart of me....

with all of mine, sissie, I give to you...
love, Karilea

I generally like the sadder, darker ones...
but I love loving a grateful one.
Reminds me that there is still beauty in love,
and that some poets, better than I,
can still write of it in amazing ways. '

Thief....that word brought me back to church. This morning, the minister said "If someone steals something from you, give it to them as a gift. If you do, then no one can ever rob you." I think that would be a good way to live.

Your words sometimes have a way of leaving me lacking for some of my own...

So, I'll just say that I was here...and read

very nice, Martie!   I like the contrasts in this.  You really know how to set and change the mood in a moment.

Oh I love what Ed said to you Martie, as that is it!  Sometimes after reading you I simply sit here and think, "Now what on earth can I possibly say to that?"  My creative mind always comes up with the same thing every time, "Damn she's good!"

An awakening midst a sleepwalk. Automatic and mundane actions made less tedious by an awareness of priorities and inhalation of an always fresh dose of love. Enjoyed
