Nacreous hush of winter dawn Seeps deep beneath my skin Running on empty, refreshes Asphalt carcasses Wearing the white hood of “Alive” Shifting wooded valleys Frozen moments, living things Recast as seas Holding this bundle close Very close Faintly streaming roads Clearly signposted Spring loaded with impatience Ignoring junctions is not a good idea~ In a glimpse of rain Two or three mountains away Looking beyond the roads edge Only to view a vacant hem of gravel But, there is always more If one looks hard enough…. Undergrowth Awareness in prime condition An addictive thrill Lethal symbolism Foreign language Imagining friendly Holding a deep breath With lots of room In lengthening days With show off fitness And layers of wool An entrancing novel Touching equal parts Yours and mine Muscle bound relationship Even terrain Thought traces Footprints through the woods That not even a little death could bring down Greenish tinges skin Bloated pink cheeks Endures and sucks Another lungful of air That is where “we” were a flashlight Directly responsible Strong and finally leavened Becoming body spirits In a single drop of blood Luminous in the dark We finger courage Empowerment Spending stubborn stands Believing in Pegasus You did That! Thank you! |
