Evening cusps full summer warmth
Stepping out onto greener focus
Savvy white sandstone
Amplifies docks, which I have won
I have won & own, my own
Wide-eyed stares, the stranger's shore

Oh, who really knows?
Prancing horses of slogans
Earnest inventories
Where are the
Summits of vanishing points?
Career nibbles angels
In schizophrenic seas
Melon sun home from school
Leaves the canary loose

Rock-solid drum rolls, burn skulls
Of topless dogs & ice cold beers
Herculean crimes, droplets of human waste
Ants, spiraling ancient buildings
Care and keep count
Hanging themselves
On the dust of two people

But oh…
Guava plucks something ripe from America
Scratching at the window screen
While hanging upside down
Whispering the captor’s voice
Evolution of perspective
Navigating buttered ports of call
In wide-opened fields

Centers of the void of secret forces
Love’s appetite, a sublime possession
How utterly alive the past was
Which brought us to this dream~

We set the table
Following a list of first priorities
While morning yawns and winks
You whisper, softly, your manly sweet breath
against my ear
"Coffee"?
I smile and say...."Give us some sugar"?
Daylight forgets the not so nice things....
