These are the times when festive hanging return,
Soon I'll pick a tree to decorate with glass and foil,
Windows will all have electric candles to burn,
Tradition will be brought from boxes stored.
We’ll have a festive meal and toast the child king,
I the only wine drinker this year once more,
Then ponder what presents the morn will bring,
I suppose each year without will be easier,
But memories remain too sharp and near
Like when I hang our first ornament high
We couldn’t afford a tree that very first year,
I was my favorite Christmas.

Double checking on the last line - should it have been it?  Or am I off track?

Otherwise - enjoyed this very much - rather lonely though -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
