In New Zealand Amongst the Ancient Trees

The as yet, unheard voices tumble into the abyss,
and I go dancing in the rain, simply because no one else will.
Besides, I am waiting for death to take a holiday,
and you can’t taste your tears in the rain.
Translucent raindrops fill my eyes distorting the view,
but that’s ok, in my time I’ve seen enough.
Uncontrolled words fly from my lips like wasps
as I count the seconds between the lightning and thunder,
which holds the promise of destruction.
While in the white cathedral of absurdity
in the name of God and everyone,
the President and politicians bow to the executioners
whilst pontificating on the sins of all but their own,
as they conduct a debate on where all the children have gone
for they are running out of cannon fodder.
Someone should tell them to look under the caterpillar tracks
where the dogs of war are unleashing the rain
that affects the weather, even in the deserts of this world.
Come dance with me in the rain, and feel the pain
of the children’s voices that will never be heard.

M...war is universal, it cares for no one, thats why it walks hand in hand with politicians.

My sentiments exactly.  Unfortunaltey the puppet master pulls the strings.  This was very  honest and hits hard.  Enjoyed.

I hear their voices and they tell me every day to be so very thankful for what I've got, for the life I've been so very privileged to lead, and for love.

Those who care speak for them as you have done here but what is the actual message to those who remain?  More fighting because we think we're right, and we probably are right, but that didn't work before and it's not likely to work again.

"The answer lies in heaven, my friend, and the plan will unfold perhaps never."
