He thought he was a poet, and took a pen in hand,
Sat down at the table, it was not as he had planned,
Twenty minutes later, his paper still was bare,
Not a single word was written, not a syllable was there.
An hour passed and still the same, not a single letter,
On the paper on the table, it was if as if a fetter,
Had been placed around his noggin, preventing him from thinking,
Stopping him from penning odes, it could drive a man to drinking,
Twilight was descending and the day was near its end,
And still no poem on the paper, no more could he pretend,
He stood up and threw the pen onto the kitchen floor,
Then crumbled up the still blank paper, and to even up the score,
Tossed the paper by the pen, down there by the Frigidaire,
When he heard her voice behind him, what is that down over there.
Once he thought he was poet, but now he knew that he was not,
But now he knew his one true calling, as she said, you missed a spot.
Cleaning is not hard to do, and dusting is a breeze,
But getting down to wipe the floor, is really hard on knees.

I got a chuckle out of that... now you have to write a verse about waking up in the middle of the night, fumbling for the light, not a pen in sight, rhyme is rolling fast and deep while something in you still asleep, is conscious of the thundering verse, and under your breath you curse.  Tomorrow you will awake ,you know tonight with a heart ache, that everything in verse you hear will like the dream all disappear.  The chemecal signature of your rhyming vision will vaporize like nuclear fission.  Alas, reassure yourself you are a dreaming poet.  Your conscious mind just does not show it.

Thanks for the inspiration!!! gotta go post this (LOL)

Yanno for someone who's not a poet you sure rhyme purty. Still I always fiond scrubbing a good way to release my muse, but the paper gets soggy and the ink runs. Great write.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
