Strange skin fevered
I grow grays
sallow parchment curling edge
breaking fine veined time
and I
have had enough today.

I closed the book and cracked the spine
watching wonderdust in fly
sparkle dervish in the sun's
last laugh of this evening's sign--

An omen at the end of day
wishing I had never seen -
the light diminishing is stone
weights in press upon this plank
that holds my history
of lack...

My chest is barreling implode.

A song
that never knew the words
a keening dirge with filagree
notation that I've never heard
yet rocked me in my sweat of sheets.

Tomorrow comes again and I
dread the surety, good night
wraps me in the cloak of it
self around my finger twirled
as I regret the wakenings,
that I could remain a girl
and never know the damning eye
of another day of light.

"Goodnight, good Night"
eyes died. They closed.

"goodnight" I sighed,
and shivered in
the comfort of my dreams
again
like a baby quivering
in sleep
there's no remembering
forgetting that life lies.

this is so sad - lonely - aching

I've been told I could not possibly be
a writer if I lower myself to base

I'd like to thank you all for your kindness, and especially you, Kari, for the 'base adjectives' reference.

I appreciate the honesty, and can't possibly think of a better exit for me--

"base adjectives"

*shaking my head*

unless it is, "like my luve,"  a red, red, rose,
I'm sure I've no idea.

You guys have fun.

and thanks, for the joy and encouragement.

Love to all.

we poetic pirates keep our selves captive to find our deepest treasures and then as a true wild womyn we dazzle and amaze the rest of the world with our findings, as they were with us through-out the journey.

that is what i am feeling and i send my love and care to my dear poet sister. who always amazes me with deep real words.

Amelia, amelia, smiling wide here.

I miss you my friend, and you are just such a lovely soul, that I wish I could capture your sweetness in a portrait.

Hugs dear friend,

Have a wonderful new year.

and Lee? I was just about to write you to thank you personally for all of the wonderful gracious replies you have left for me, but since I have no e mail address for you, I'll say it here:

thank you

and Happy Reading folks.

I appreciate your generosity very much.

I could go on about how great this one is...
and everything I said would be true.
And yet, I think this one
needs a more focused reply, and so
here... ...There.

Karen,
As always, I am stunned, but, for a change I think I finally realize why. To me, it is your ability to transform words into images that draws like few I have come across. Hope all is well.

Read this four times now, Karen.  Brilliant writing, as always.  Wonderdust....sparkle dervish....sun laughing --- pulled me right there.  Happy 2005, Karen, sincerely.   ....jo
