Days of dragonflies arrive
so too legless bodies covered
in sweat and bites

mosquito’s grow fat with lust

and I with envy

My foundations snap
with the slap of greed, his nocturnal
creed and I am wrapped in his brine

wet with grassed velocities

I have tasted this many a night
it clings to my spine and corrodes me
strips me bare of salt

I worship the cries

the raw thrust of wide-hipped wives
and friendless gentlemen that wind
the core of funneled limbs.

into this night i wonder, it's morning that i dread, another day of knowing of, the path i fear to tread.
