December was white then

left over snow stuck to hard ground
as new fell in a dance among the cedar

where wind played
            the strings of dry grass
and curious wings stood huddled

under layers of green

The lady Blue transforms herself

to lie deeper in channels she cut
as she moves slowly to the stretch of night
and touch of stars
               too bright for summer

Here, where limestone broke the back of swell
and lies exposed to the eye
   drifts lay against her flanks
                     sculpted as they are
in long graceful curves
while above on ledges
                 cling roots of evergreen
    with lace topped heads bent
to pray as she passes quietly beneath the hands
  of this season

I pray too
that the bits of glittered broken wings I find
will not be missed by some angel who shed them

struggling to stand upright against tempests
unseen by ourselves

                      you touched me

as I wrote on pages whiter than the frozen words
of blemished lives spent in self defense

and I prayed for skin

to slide under my hands that I might feel the warm
of your heart as it beat in caged ribs

  You,
Eve of winter
caught slow eyed against the wind

I prayed
    would touch me
                     again

You have me looking forward
to the time that the lady Blue swells
when the ice comes...

before the thaw...

In the words of Karen...

*touching screen*

at first I was reminded how the lake made sounds when frozen...

then as I kept reading and...

I saw you there...waiting for a touch.

you make me smile with my eyes.

I know I'm always sighing and wowing, but...

Sighhhh, WOW!

Outstanding Sir.

into my library you go

into this night i wonder, it's morning that i dread, another day of knowing of, the path i fear to tread.
