I sat, silently listening
as sapphire eyes spoke
             of yesterday

light flickered,
a fond remembrance
found soft recall
and         for a moment
        a smile

lightning flashed,
sapphire turned cobalt

the feeling
somehow had become
       unfamiliar
to him
and the smile;
      foreign          to a face
now weathered and      weary
with the passing of time.

My chest was heavy
with weight of emotions
flooding over me
as hope
          and hopelessness
cut deep into my heart.

Such pain, I had never felt...

Such beauty, I had never seen...

Such love, I had never known...

             until that day

                         when blue eyes cried.

The greatest beauty on earth, is

sometimes you have to take those moments that touch and hold them closely
and cherish them.

It was that kind of moment.

Donna, you are becoming one amazing poetess! Your writing is so emotive ~ so very expressive ~ and graceful. It reflects your gentle spirit.

A moment to be remembered and so eloquently shared.

Love ya!

Oh Donna, this was a magnificent write that even after reading it again this evening evokes images and thoughts.

Thank you for this; I really loved it,

I always like to make sure I let a poet know when I feel they have strectched the poetic horizons and in this piece you have done so.  I really like this style on you and the piece was done remarkably well.  The line breaks were proper, the tone hit just right, and it flowed smoothly.  Just enough said and nothing less.  I commend you on your accomplishment with this piece.
