Filling Up the Christmas Goose

‘tis the season to be holy
and a bit more roly-poly
don’t worry that no one will date you
it’s all the better to insulate you

for the cold winds of the north
blow and blow and bring snow forth
coating all about with whiteness
giving some a sense of spriteness

so pack on pounds of an’mal fat
like the goose of Christmas past
wait a minute, we all ate her
and the pounds that did inflate her

I guess one must consider that
before donning on layers of fat
like the gander whose goose was cooked
we may likewise be forsook

so if it’s fat you want to wear
my friend, remember, please beware!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Very lighthearted and brought a smile.  A nice treat after a very hectic week.  Thanks for the smiles and of course the warning Virginia.
