Food for thought...

would not a quirky turkey
go running through the woods,
his legs and wings all jerky,
not knowing where he stood

might he come upon a tree
thinkin’ he could hide
than look at me seein’ he (poetic license)
sword and rifle by my side

he’d then suck in his gullet
his wings, tail-feathers, too,
feeling like some pullet,
afraid what I might do

if you’re not certain what I’m saying
‘bout a quirky turkey in the woods
he’d sure become a chicken
and the news would not be good

yep, a plucky, clucky turkey
he’d be with chicken legs
that would rattle, go berserky
and taste fine with deviled eggs

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
