* * *

I walk slowly through the door
And brush the cobwebs away
Your shed was once your refuge
A place you came to every day

The smell of cedar oil
And wood carved long ago
Your place of quiet contentment
Where your skills were put on show

I would watch you as you worked
Your hands were cracked and dry
Fond memories I now relive
As a tear escapes my eye

I inhale familiar scents
As I stand amongst my thoughts
You were a gentle man of peace
So many lessons you once taught

As I glance around your workshop
It is your presence that I miss
Memories come flooding back
As I stop and reminisce

* * *

As most of you know, it was through
grief at losing my dearly loved father
that led me to writing.  He was
a carpenter by trade and I have many
fond memories of watching him on the
woodturning machine which he was so
very skilled at.  I called in home
one day a couple of years ago and
stood inside his shed, which had so
long ago been abandoned.  I felt his
presence so strongly as I stood in
silence and that experience inspired
me to write this poem.

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

You are such a lovely and graceful writer of romance. A sigh usually escapes from my lips when I read your beautiful poetry.

Such adoration in these words of your poem.  This is such nice sentiment for the person in the story.  So, so nice.

I was so deeply moved by your beautiful responses.  This poem means so very much to me, as do your kind words.

Take care........Sue
