Twas the night before Christmas
Santa looked round,
Quietness reigned,
Not even a mouse

Was chewing aloud

Santa grew hot
Machinery stopped
Anger a bubbling
Toys a job lot

Factory line oiled
Machinery there
Quiet as the grave
Delivery bared

Just in time Reindeer
Tailing for miles
Contract Santas
Sat on large piles

No hammer brave
Was hitting toys
No CDs spinning
Full of loud noise

Quietness reigned
The real McCoy
No one tells Santa
How to make toys

Magic dispute
Career on the shelf
He watched his ambitions
Go walking the streets

Angels have wings
He heard himself sing
Of that and other
Gossamer things

The team arrives
OEAG here
(Organisation of Elves and Associated Goblins) for what you hold so dear
Rule 3 Para 4,
Gilded wherever it's clear
We have our standards to uphold
Gossamer this year and we're making it bold

So
Touched with delight
And painted again
Sharing their thoughts
And sweet smells araigned

Sparkling their cherished wishes and thoughts
Not gilded and plastic
Like some endless
Caught
To produce the goods

The kids want to see

But no angel can fly
With painted gummees
And where you paint gossamer
No-body sings
Of thoughts
Words
Things

OEAG stopped and reconsidered
Gossamer next year, will be considered
Machinery started to move right along
Deep from the beat came a new song

We voted you in
But made a mistake
We wanted the garden cleared
Not a good rake

Goblins were hitting
The bricks and the toys
Eyesight was never
One of their ploys

Elves moved marketing and
PR to the door
Buried with wishes
Right from the floor

Santa smiled
His worries over
Angels would fly
His bonus to clover
And gossamer things

"We voted you in
But made a mistake
We wanted the garden cleared
Not a good rake"

Now this stanza brings it all into focus for me.
Too much commercial not enough of people enjoying
the true meaning of Christ Mas…

Enjoyed the read DavePage.

Thanks all

It was about something that would happen naturally without it being controlled.
