I dream of the snow on the ground
on the desert side of haden
there by the ranger lookout
long legged birds
they stand every few miles
of fuzzy tree beach

when morning visits on mondays
the pine scent is salty thick
makes the nose green inside
just breathing it with the mind
and there are no fires outside
but inside a coleman rages

pretending to be a hearth and mantle
under two point five cups of warm
coffee for me and cocoa for you
but that will be later on
when I find my watch in a backpack
treasure chest that we both forgot

to see what moment it was then
when time stopped and left us here
between the limbs of two people trees
knowing the smells of the bark
the damp people skin kind
in shape shift melding rhyme

not fighting the fires of our love

This is decades ago CA memories...
a few particularly fine lines,
just a dream song never sung...

Good good morning...

I tried so...to pick one favorite line
but couldn't...
This one, my friend, brought tears

Not sad, but not happy either, just tears
Outstanding write!
I don't know how you do what you do?
But I surely wish I possessed some of that talent...it wouldn't be wise to envy
so instead I think, perhaps someday I'll learn...until then, we are blessed with
the artistry of you and look forward to the signficance of you....your man perfume, as you would say...soft smiles

Hugs
Lee J.

damn sir...
I know that stir and the rage underneath.. you wrote it as I have wished to many times...
It's deep, old, and something both familiar as well as strange...

damn...

Damn D- Hayden - yes, you paint a lovely picture here - enticing - inviting - color me there

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

I think love may be one of the only things that can stop time.  Lovely feeling to this poem enjoyed.
