i lean over the sink to brush my teeth i
press my hips against the counter to feel them
there and to think about them being what they are:
these bones this system.
to think about them wildly.

i press hard
and you are working beside me with a
knife that is shining - my corner eye
catches the flickers of your excitement.
this heavenly preparation.

and you are feeding this house.
my bones. my belly. you are feeding all the hungry animals
and i am amazed. and i am frightened.
i think how brave. or, how now? and it does not mind or
matter, it does not because you are working beside me with
a knife and i am confirming our makeup with my hips and
we are happening.

Happening indeed!

This (to me) reads as a confirmation of "self" and "place"

Love the wordplay too!

Nice to read you once again

Amazing.
Truly excellent.

I haven’t any conscious concrete notion of what you’re
talking about and it doesn’t in the least matter.

You have a masterpiece; an absolute work of art.

Truly remarkable, I never expected.

John

P.S.  I just read you other postings; I will be
watching for you.

i wish there were a way to come in and say thanks for reading/comments and all without pulling this back to the front page -
(but then i suppose, how would anyone receive it).
thanks for your words,...your kindness, for reading what leaves me.
