Souls Like Crystal Snowflakes

Just a few short hours ago,
During midnight it chanced to snow
And early, around 3:00 a.m. or so,
I awoke to a glisten of glow.

There was no sound, no apparent life,
As only in a fairy tale’s dream,
Imagine souls like crystal snowflakes,
Come to dance upon my scene.

For there was a sparkle all around
And lo, over the land covered white,
The skies had cleared and the moon abound,
Snowflake souls and I, alone in this night.

For each flake was a spirit of one
Before it joined its companions white
And like my world, they all joined in
United, to make things ensue just right.

So may souls like crystal snowflakes
Thrive round you this year;
And keep in mind during summer;
Rainbows will keep them here.

Karilea

I know how pretty this must be...but oh so cold!  Unless of course, one is looking out your window.

You depict a scene I can only dream of but the soul part I understand very well.  A sensitive write.

Unfortunately winter has set his jaw once again in my parts, but poems like this take much away from his sting.
Lovely write, Karilea.

Lovely...
Funny how the theme of it is chilly and yet the delivery makes the cold seem comfortable...must be the poets aura that makes the blue page warm...

I love winter in PA if it only snowed on the trees and in the woods rather than on the roads and sidewalks...I love snow, just not walking or driving in it, I'm sure I'll see more than my share of snowflakes before the winter is through

mmm...I'm ready for the snow although I don't like the drive...well that is, depending on if I'm on tour in it driving the mountains, or if I'm dealing with the highway!     Love this

An illustrious and soul-touching write worthy of the Sun's signature.

Lovely beyond words. A highly appealing reading experience. Thank you for gracing these pages with such wondrous visions and thoughts.

The first snowfall each year is great, it's just every one after that I hate...

This paints a perfect picture of thoughts, sight, and sound.
Has a “once in a lifetime” vision.

Enjoyed the tranquil mood.

Karilea

I have never experienced falling snow as we don't have snow here in Winter where I live but your words took me there, and left me feeling at peace.

Take care..........Sue
