Coming and going used to be so easy
I wonder why I cant find my way these days
Questions asked were never hard
Is it in my head?

I pick up the phone and hesitate
I know what the trouble is
Every word I say is history
It's not that simple

Connected in a way are we
Unspoken silence shatters my mind
Passing day by day
Yesterday is now long since gone

I hear my history when I sleep
I know now where I am
A place of confusion
I beg for direction

Unable to concentrate
Single thoughts pierce me
Worries take their place
Take a number

For a moment I think in peace
Memories fade from within
Never misplaced
Always the never, here inside

Ample time goes by
Hanging within this moment
Turn the hands back for one more show
My brain will no longer play along

I feel like I am being followed
Every turn I make
Illusions run deep
Fractures keep me hollow

I fill this day like every other
Working inside from under me
Set aside my thoughts for today
All mixed up are we

"What we have here is a failure to communicate"  From the movie "Cool hand luke", one of my favorites;

That's the way every drink is made. LOL
Some turn out delicious.
