The panther walks
Amongst the shadows
Eyes aglow
In amber hunger
Lips curled
Baring teeth
In expectation
Of exaltation
Into the heavens
Of ecstasy make

Black and lithe
Fluid lines traced
Melding into darkness
That shapes the night
She is silent walk
But for the purr
And heated breath pant
Of feline design
To swallow the sun
As creature of myth

And in the eclipse
That follows
The moon will rule
As sacred mists dance
In ancient spirit speak
And the legend
In guise of black cat walk
Unleashes the feminine forces
The dark mother comes

Warrioress-

Seeress-

Seductress-

She is . . .

Passion
Unbridled
And manifest

Ah yes, she has passed by - just a bit of mysticism here - I love legend and lore -

The Panther

His tired gaze--from passing endless bars--
has turned into a vacant stare which nothing holds.
To him there seem to be a thousand bars,
and out beyond these bars exists no world.

His supple gait, the smoothness of strong strides
that gently turn in ever smaller circles
perform a dance of strength, centered deep within
a will, stunned, but untamed, indomitable.

But sometimes the curtains of his eyelids part,
the pupils of his eyes dilate as images
of past encounters enter while through his limbs
a tension strains in silence
only to cease to be, to die within his heart.

Susan
Each paw print a shadow
Like a little bit of Poe.
Delicious read.

And someone once made us believe that a
black cat was ill fortune on four paws...

Me thinks not...after reading this piece
of slow simmering sensual fare...

Thank you Alli - the black panther is one of my favorite creatures - beauty in grace

Barry - I'm glad you enjoyed - and to me black cats are so very beautiful - no ill fortune involved - and a black panther, when caught in the right light shows its hidden spots - it is gorgeous.  Hugs -

Lovely work Susan, however I have never enjoyed being in the company of black cats or dogs, and I bet I would set a world's record if I were to see a black cat that size
