Faded Memories and Lost Dreams
By Paul Wilson

A thousand poems left un-done
Words and memory a distant haze
Searching catacombs of my mind
Endless thoughts lost in a maze

Stories my heart yearns too weave
Dreams and visions I long too share
Always just out of reach
Or were they ever really there

I could write of heartache and sorrow
But have no more tears too cry
A love poem would be nice
If I could find the words I’d try

At least I’ve got my memories
For now or so it seems
Tomorrow they too may be gone
Like yesterdays dreams

The words use too come so easy
Writing my heart was all I knew
Visions of the mind no longer come
Is this the end of what I love too do?

Remember my poems from the past
When the words flowed like wine
The years have taken their toll
I have no more visions in my mind

Close the book within my heart
No more ink in the pen
This will be my final poem
I’ll never write my heart again

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~
Paul

Oh Paul, we all go through that feeling, that writer's block.

You will be writing again. A poet is born, not made. You just need some inspiration!

I have written several, including "This Should Be Where I Lay My Pen Down". I do understand you.

I hope you continue to write...even if it isn't about love...

Dear Paul, the flow and the talent are there don't you see? The muse just waits for you to listen, trusting fully .... Memories may fade, dreams are born anew whenever you let the sun shine within your soul ...

You are a beautiful, powerful poet and it is not time to put down the pen!

Love, Margherita

Seems pretty clear to me that you found the ink for this great piece~
