Leaving a Mark on My Soul

These tears will fall for a memory
They will last forever in my heart
A damaged soul of many things to come
So walk away now and forever
The footsteps leave a mark in my soul
Never will they be erased
Permanent smudges in the mind which no one could ever repair
I have loved with all my heart
No one could ever take that back
Now I’m broken
Hanging only by a thread
Dangling by pieces never to mend
I forgive all those who caused this sadness
Never now will you need to feel for me
The dust stirs up a million words for me to say to all of you
One thing will ring loud and true
Your foot prints left a mark on my soul
You walk away
I’ve stayed
You walked away…
