In Hush Time

I sit here and ponder.
I watch branches silently shake leaf castanets.
The sun has made a slow, lento rise.
Intermittent stillness captures elm’s raised arms.
Yet, a trembling returns with each breath of morning’s breeze.
The trees echo a  specter of this day.
I surmise a coolness with a trend toward more tepid hours.
No showers shall find their path meandering near.
I cannot hear the vibrancy of this day’s commencing.
Still I know the music of its life.
Winged creatures rest, dance and swing minus staccato strings.
Uppermost branches support feathered hopes and joys.
Fir, spruce and naked locusts frame this quiet neighborhood.
Though it’s Friday, it seems that Sunday has come.
For this day encapsulates a peace in legato style.
A triplet of crows marks the tallest locust spire.
A silent lyre mimes tranquility as wind strums the chords of autumnal grace.
There has grown more than a trace of gospel understanding of serenity.
Come, feel this hush with me.

In Lush Time

I sit and
watch branches
shake
their leaf castanets
beneath lento rise
of sun
as intermittent stillness
captures elm’s  arms
bringing trembling
with each breath of
breeze
as trees echo a  specter
of this day
with a coolness
giving way
to more tepid hours
minus showers
singing a vibrancy
of this day
and its music of  life
found in
its winged creatures
legato autumn dance.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Wow Virginia!  What wonderful imagery!  I think I will come sit with you for awhile.  Love both treatments...interesting.

V...your word choices so effective, could feel the breeze blow.  Coffee would be good.
