intro:
I pray for mercy on the freeway
with the workin grind left behind
creepin through rising heat waves
there's committment on my mind
beyond this big ashphalt sea
and four lane hell I can't escape
I know heaven waits for me
just a traffic jam away

vs 1
Back at home I can imagine
evening hours filled with passion
we're dancin and the tunes are playin
cross the floor we're slowly swayin
cheek to cheek I'm holdin her
movin to Sinatra's throaty purr
there's no lineup and no smoke
just the the two of us alone

I'm just a traffic jam away
from the vision in my mind
just a traffic jam away.
from a compliment of mine
Just a traffic jam away
from heaven down the line.

vs 2
She'll fill my arms up with her touch
her sweet kisses drenched with love
I'll forget my daily curses
She'll ease my mind as she nurses
my open heart with words of care
her sweet voice will fill the air
past the long wait beyond the haze
we'll be together once again

I'm just a traffic jam away
from the vision in my mind
just a traffic jam away.
from a compliment of mine
Just a traffic jam away
from heaven down the line

Ain't doin nothin at all
Just answerin the call
Kinda driftin away from it all~~~~~
