Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-11-18 10:39 PM

Arrested Flashings

Split, spliced seconds
mingling moments,
time transcendent in

smelling pine, fresh
home-baked bread
and ironed clothes

my voice, her throat,
curling, composed caress,
calming children’s cries,

verdant color eyeing
curves grown round
all that loved,
she was someone,
mine in spare moments

not quite gone, just caught
in places yet to travel
she had to go first,
but too soon…

she would be smiling today,
but, yes, now, here,
arrested flashings…

it won’t matter
if you understand
or not, it won’t matter
to anyone but you, brother
and you, sister
and me.

~*~

I love you, Mom

A tribute, heartfelt warm and charming love for a mom.
You are an amazing daughter, and sister.  In this write

Holidays are the hard times...but the special remembering eases the missing of.

Lovely, packed gently with emotion. It is the way of things; the way it's supposed to go, we certainly weep if our child preceeds us, and yet the tears are ever-present even when things find their proper order...it almost always feels too soon.

I love the "my voice her throat" line!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Compacted emotions, enough words to say the hearts feelings and not one extra...Fine example of the modern form...
