Picture a petition is signed
a bill of rights protected
an image worth countless words
if the message gets across quick enough
there may still be enough funds for schools
but most are unsure about that next step
explains the same leadership's on deck
out to praise former foes
only to drum up support...
all in the name of self-interest
as if that would be a passport to redemption.

Take the use of a negative mindset
as a remedy to block out other views
picture these words as a tremendously warped
monologue for peace
or an immature love for hate
there are no petitions to sign
but most have other things in mind
satisfied with implanted fears
glorified external threats
than to bother about a bland signature
so much paper gets chucked,
it lands in waste bins anyway!

Who wouldn't  care about a right to express?
Why bother to express distress?
more important than immediate debts
as to why it all started isn't a favorite...
just trudge through jobless years
the total of hope less so many fears...
just to satisfy one's negative outlook
to say that there wasn't ever anything wrong
a soldier's worthy aspects is the song...

Then there are no petitions to sign
that would give many peace of mind
so ignore the petitioner's plea
sit complacently
scratch that flea...

Shame how political so many were just a few weeks ago and how silent and unconcerned too many are, though steeped in a "more of the same" now.

The lack of honest dialogue will catch up with us sooner than later.

The "free" chances of greedy mall kiosks get more citizen involvement and attention than any petition.

Maybe the weary warriors are at rest for a moment. Maybe this is a bad dream.

RSWells

It's all very real, and something to deal with...
