It makes you afraid
to be so exposed—

All the colors
and movements
almost hurt your eyes.

Here
there are crowds
for whom living is a given,
(no one here dwells
on killing themselves).

It's all
so very new for you,

an absence of darkness.
At least, alone
in your windowless cell,
there was always a place to hide.

Then out of the plane
for which you've been waiting,
dressed in a suit
he finally arrives.

Suddenly frail,
and gaunt with anguish,
again a girl,
you come: to his arms,

a familiar being,
the man who loves you,

your only connection
to this world of light.
