you don't have to say anything to hurt her with your words
she'll try and look perfect
for you
for them
and you'll find flaws
you always find flaws

she wishes she knew who she was
and what her life should be
but she can't remember
her eyes
they used to hold passion
now like glass
you can see through them
you always have

if you hold her up to the light
and love her for everything she is
she might now have to break her fingers hitting the keyboard every night
hoping to find some peice of mind
in the words that comes out
