It rains in this copse of trees

slow small mist that drops

to soothe

in a wet of skin
the way our faces burn

red hushed in a blush of need

  while trees whisper against
the skin of wind

rustled
           silk sounds reminding us
of how it was to find someone

who turned their eyes to us

not to their own needs ...

let us lie here
held in gnarled finger roots
creeping up from soil
and let the Cedar scent our bed
  while we find the ways
to speak words we always left

unsaid

as we wonder on round vowels

if this flicker of fire built here
would smolder hot
under damp leaves
should we pile them on

then lay  ourselves across the embers
burning one soul
                to the other with flickered
touch of flesh that left us
as smoke to rise

in dance

of soft consonants hissing S’s

grey  against night

until we filled every recess

   of crevice in broken stars

and ran along the lines of time

till we forgot we’re charcoal

but carbon atoms mixed
with ash of man

still  untouched
in isolation of every breath drawn
and tossed...
     on some warm breeze
unable in our best intent
                         to fly further than this
the copse of wood
                    filled with drops of rain
and hearts
           that would love
                             again

The talent here upon the blue pages often leaves me in awe - as does yours - simply wonderful -

Hi Ron ... I have to agree with Susan. Such awe inspiring poets and you dear man, are one of the very best.

This is beautiful.

(I'll be back)

when you walked into the room it felt like time was standing still.
and I felt fascination...then my heart gave me away.

Okay, I am hissing - now what? Captain, you can sure set a forest fire with your muse.  I am showing this to nice office folks at Lynn Canyon - they are gonna love this one for sure. This IS a picture of our local forest attraction here.

i just LOVE that line.... awesome....

This just slow smolders in its smoke of expression...its layered lovely with all the musky scents of the forest in fall..all the textures and colors.

could that be any cooler?
personifi perfection and metaphor magic my friend.
