Gaze fell on perfected polish of bronze
topped off in winning smile.
Firm handshake amidst
"Hello, what a pleasure"
touch of warmth
    {deep breath, caught off guard}
as ocean blue eyes smiled into mine
on this first occassion
when Santa Paula met Pennsylvania
      {long, slow exhale escaped....}
Years of polite business conversations
and "It's always a pleasure"
culminated into a chance
trip of tripping into each other
and a day well spent
laughing and learning
and then,
that twinkle showed up
when Mr. California
realized that I might not
have just tripped,
but could easily have
f a l l e n.......

Sort of like window shopping on Main St. in Disneyland.  As long as that see through is there, the temptation only becomes oops when we pass the threshold.  Enjoyed the look.

Ahhh, the only thing better than CA dreaming, is falling for the real thing.

A delightful read, Donna.

So that is how it is done?  I better go
practice my trip and fall routine...but
my guess is they will just watch an old
man make a one point landing in the sand
or dirt or sidewalk...  Loved the poem!!
