A Harbored Light

For a brief moment
I am but a harbored light
Stone walls are rising

There must come a tomorrow
One needs shield this ember’s light

For a brief Moment
Darkness tries to overwhelm
Rains may extinguish

From within some voice echoes
Desolation is not yours

Wretchedness shawls me
Something unknown, now my past,
Edges rule my road

One slip, and if light should fall
All slip in obscurity

Night’s winter, wailing
A Christmas gift enlightens
Love of one’s Father

And the daughter takes her hold
Her life takes on august goal

For a brief moment
I am but a rising light
All walls are falling

As all shadows are but ways
Crises finds for time’s amends

~*~

Dedicated to my Father

Kari darling heart, now this I like muchly, beautiful imagery here, and full of wisdom too.

As I said an absolutely fabulous poem, the flow and the movement within this is perfect. I swear I can feel the light bathing my soul, truly special

A safe harbour,
Place of refuge
From the storm of sorrow
That wracked my soul

Your hand reaching out
The touch of softness
Circling my spirit
With a warmth
A love that will always
Hold me
Keep me safe

So I seek the lights
That call me home
And feel your touch
Here in the confines
Of my soul

Harbour me forever
Keep me safe
As you always
Have

Love you always
and forever
Mushy

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

Such wonderful verse filled with 'light' for not only your father, but for me as well.

Thank you for sharing a bit of you with me this morning. A great write.

hugs, Marti
