Between the Lines

In Each of Us

Time is precious
and should be shared
with those who are a part of you.

Words should never come between
to break the strings that attach
and lengthen as we grow older,
but should be used to seal the bonds
and lift the spirits
and hold onto that
which is so easily led astray.

For you who are no longer with us
to those who long to be together,
it is what lies between those words,
the meanings behind all caring,
the memories that made and make us
who we are
that need to be recalled,
brought forth in respect
to ease the missing
and allow the healing,
tying the knots to reclaim
the childhood innocence
in each of us.

*thoughts after a conversation with a cousin, whose mother, my Father's twin, will be 80 this year
and wishes me to join them for a Thanksgiving celebration...

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

And here's me hoping you will...
for moments like these will become
fewer and fewer as time flies by...

Oh I do hope you will join them for Thanksgiving Maureen.
Life is SO short.
This is so truthful and lovely.
Hugs~
