~*~

No one ever got under my skin
as gloriously
except the one who did.
Like scented lotion rubbed in,
I shimmered in the sunlight
and basked under a blanket of stars.

Floating on my back
across foreign seas.
I wear the winds where we were
and the salt of my tears,
releasing the sands of time
that go with it.

When I was with him
he made me believe in Camelot
and all would be right in my world
that it is,
and will be.

Still, the way of things change
only to remain the same
though we've drifted
past the sweeping horizon
and still life in color.

Yet I know
there is a place I can go
that will never grow old,
and for that I am
eternally grateful.

To the he who remains
so close to me always
layered upon layers,
under my skin.

~*~

Bluesy Gal - this is so lovely and you're so lucky to have a "he" like that.  Yes, I know the feeling of "under the skin" but I'm not as lucky as you.  Take care of your heart.

Only you Lori, only you. How you reveal deep inside with metaphors. Ya' make me jealous. Nicely done again. Peace dear friend.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Thanks to each of you for taking the time to read me and finding my poetry worthy of your thoughtful replies.  They mean a great deal to me, I hope you know that.  My time is not my own these days and I've missed this place and all your passionate voices.  Please know it warms my heart to come home and find the door left open.

Thank you so much for being here~

Mark, your poetry as well as your replies light up these pages
and are enough to turn my brown eyes blue, and bluer.
Thank you for your kind and caring ways.

Hi Dautz Write~  thanks for stopping by to read. And a warm welcome to you~

Ed~  I don't know how cozy it is, being careful what we wish for isn't always a matter of choice, but there's something to be said for staying power, and I am so very thankful for that, and him.   I lost a good friend because my feelings got in the way, as though they weren't allowed.  I think real friends are the ones who can forgive ones short comings as well as their own.  My point being, some people don't think they have any.  Hmmmmph!!! Thanks and hugs, it's so good to see you here.

Hi Donna, thanks for the heart hugs and your sweet reply.
Your gentle spirit is a blessing to so many. Love and hugs, honey~

Ericc~   I'm always so pleased to hear from you, it is much appreciated, and I thank you.
