A pair of love birds at the door
who knows what the visit has in store
when subject to a lone gull swoop one day
has residents to question the motive of her stay

In a sleepy town she posed with expertise
was the main character she opted to tease
a school teacher caught by a feathered gang
detected weird presence as the female rang.

Who knows what flocks fill the skies today
has nature gone mad, served on diurnal trays?
a conditioned response has winged friends flutter
to hiss and peck at pant cuffs along street gutters

Crows in the sleepy town knew where she stayed
folk were keen to question the bird attack delay
that draped telegraph wires to the subject house
as the mysterious lady vied to catch a spouse...

Had a hunch that the Birds was based on a true account after having seen it for the third or fourth time, thanks for the comment

This reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's
movie The Birds.
Love it my friend
