I remember when she came
to the office of men
in her business suit
and walk of take no names

there four of us there
gentlemen without an agenda
I held the door open
she said she expected that

dave offered her coffee
she preferred to drink tea
from a seperate container
something private for just her

ted showed her how to clear a jam
on the copy machine on tuesday
she said maybe he could just do them
since he was there anyway

the third week came around
and the shared restroom did too
in coversations about seat up or down
and that she had been there two weeks

and we should know better by now
she looked at my eyes and my yawn
and said I should show consideration
I said I would do better than that

I could show her how to stand
