One Inca Indian Prophecy

"Twice with silver, once with gold,
I shall fill your coffers
if you but let me go"

So goes the story told of
Atahualpa, Inca emperor of old
begged for his life
to Pizarro, who would not listen.
And upon his death bed
Atahualpa said,

"Cocaine shall fortify the Indian,
and destroy the white man."

And so it has come to pass,
that many white men have chosen
to embrace the refined white powder,
while the natives still choose
to chew the leaf,
exchewing the white death.

Interesting - enjoyed learning this little tidbit - love it when history is spoken -
even when it is sad - bit of karma, don't you think?

yes, it is sad

especially when we ignore all the warning signs that an ancient prophecy is about to be filled

The trouble is that when things come to pass they grab those who heeded the warnings as well as those who didn't - no justice it seems until we believe those who behave are saved.     Just a thought.
Interesting read.

And now, in Afganistan, little else grows successfully for the farmer, but the poppy.
But we have had "successful elections" there.
And on and on it goes . . .

Helen, an interesting comment, thanks for reading!
Krawdad, that was my thought after writing this, that we have another parallel in another part of the world. Thanks for reading!

Cocaine or alcohol, choose your poison.  Regardless of your race, we all are susceptible.  I liked it muchly.  Steve.  I know muchly is not a word, but it sounded good, lol.

Always enjoy your historical perspectives, Kacy.

Sometimes prophecy is very good insight mixed with wisdom relating to man's greed.
