I am balanced on a fulcrum,
I dare not even breathe.
Nor can I move a muscle,
As my senses all take leave.

I’m frozen in a time warp,
I know not where I am.
But lions circle ‘round me,
~ A defenceless, gentle lamb.

I teeter on the precipice,
Of despair’s insanity.
Gone is all my reason,
And prideful vanity.

I'm holding in my breath,
For fear that I might fall.
I juggle back and forth,
The proverbial bouncing ball.

My life hangs in the balance,
And my heart is on my sleeve.
I never get a break,
Or am granted a reprieve.

A breeze becomes a gale,
When I’m in this state of mind.
Mole hills become tall mountains,
With my eyes becoming blind.

Hope has up and left me,
I’m lost and all alone.
My life hangs in the balance,
~ My dreams have up and flown.

Mr. T. ~

I suppose I should have made a note of the fact that it was my alter ego that wrote this poem! lol In actuality, I am a VERY positive person! Balloons ~ Mind you, I have had my down times and I suppose that is where this poem came from.

Loveyou lots, Tender-Hearted One!

Have you only one alter ego?  Me, I have many - somedays it seems so crowded in my head, I have to send some of them to their rooms -

I understand this - there are those days -

Keep the positive light shining - and the shadows at bay -

Hugs -  Susan

I knew it wasn't you that wrote this poem.
I don't believe I have ever heard a single
cry for help from your lips..  Perhaps it is
because they are sewn shut?  Nothing like
busting a stitch or two, huh?

Angel, you are lovely in every way.
And any way you write always lifts me somehow.

I think, dear Linda, that there is no one among us who does not know this kind of "threatening precipice", so you certainly have captured very well a mood ... whether in your own depth or in the collective consciousness.
Thank you for sharing this great write, it's a lesson too!
For now we smile, don't we?
Loving you,
Margherita
