in the shadows

Within the quick of endless darkness,
the bright brief points of night awareness,
vision shatters in slow motion
and the world reforms again;
when the mind is called as witness
for a life without defenses,
the love I held as precious
burns as acid in my soul.

I've been missing your words but am glad you've surfaced again from the "deep". It doesn't pay to stay there too long, you know, although I think a visit there every now and again is a necessity. And for acid there's a remedy ... perhaps to be found in the "deep", the very deep waters of soul. Take care and don't forget to shine up the twinkle in your eyes - perhaps another remedy? Oops - soapbox again - sorry.
