swirling in tight vacumes, leaves scarlet and amber, turned to an invisible hand outside the shop doorway. Wind cooed and called to the shoppers with trolleys, they paid no heed, too busy to see seasons change. Watching the leaves turn clockwise, like invisible water down a plug hole, sadness entered me. these colourful leaves were the trees final show. Now they have been gathered by Hedgehogs and mice, a warm bed to sit out the unforgiving winter, to sleep comfortably from prying eyes. Blasted down bare streets, like a colourful quilt blown apart at the seams, final striking colour, before winters murk. |
